My Favorite Cosmetic Bag Collection: Ellis James Designs

 Calling all my beauty queens OR those who just need to be better organized in the beauty department (me lol). I am absolutely obsessed with these bags for not just traveling, but also just to use every day. I want to start by introducing the bag I received with my first collab I did with Ellis James Designs back in June. 

If you are an OG follower on Instagram or have followed along since June, you've probably seen this post about the Tall Cosmetic Bag in black. When I received this bag, I IMMEDIATELY was feeling like I needed to be out with the old and bring in the new! My previous make up bag was from high school and was really beat up and stained. This new bag was a game changer and I could tell it was already better quality than my last one even brand new. I used this Tall Cosmetic Bag to travel a bit and of course, my bronzer cracks and powder is all over the bag. Does anyone else literally bust every single bronzer they get??? Anyways, I was freaking out because the inside of the bag is like this lighter cream color. I used a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponge on it and I am so serious, it looks BRAND NEW! The material is truly life changing and it gives the bag structure. All of the other make up bags I've tried have to be filled to the top to hold themselves up. This one holds its own structure even empty. 

I used the mesh pocket in the top to store all of my face masks and those samples you always get when you order from Sephora lol, but I found that this is a great place for me to keep them so that they aren't just piling up in my bathroom drawer. 

The bottom portion of the bag is absolutely huge. There is so much space that I could literally fit all the make up I own into this one bag. I was pleasantly surprised that even my larger eye shadow palettes could lay flat with excess space. Overall, I had a wonderful experience collabing with Ellis James Designs. The owner is so sweet and very approachable with questions. This bag along with the rest of the collection is listed on Amazon and shipped SO FAST! I think even with delays due to COVID, I had my bag in 5-6 days! I thought I was done collabing with Ellis James but the owner reached out to me and asked about another collab.........HECK YES I WILL!!!!

SOOOO they sent me two more bags to match the one I just shared. The packaging is super cute and very on-brand. The Ellis James logo is monogramed all over the tissue paper wrapping and the logo sticker helps it stay in place during shipping. The smaller bag is the Travel Jewelry Keeper and the bigger bag is the Extra Large Makeup Bag with Compartments. I am obsessed with the fact that I now have the cutest little set to travel with:

I've completely filled the Extra Large bag because I'm obsessed with how I can section it off and size it to the exact amount of space I need to fit certain products! The separators have Velcro on each end so that they can attach to the long strip of Velcro that goes across the sides of the bag. I always struggle trying to travel with glass perfume bottles and this bag has enough padding so that it doesn't break, but also the size of the compartment keeps it in place as well. ANDDDD FOR THE LIPSTICKS..........I have to have multiple lipsticks to choose from ALWAYS. Before I got this bag, I struggled to pack as many as I wanted and keep them all in one spot. I would literally pack them up in a Ziploc bag to keep them all together. With this bag, I sized the space so I could pile my favorite lipsticks and look at the shades all together as I get ready for the day.

OKAYYYYY now for the reaaaaaaal good one. They are all REAL good, but this next bag was my absolute favorite out of the three in this collab. The Travel Jewelry Keeper is some next level jewelry storage and organization. I usually keep it full of my go-to jewelry, which is like a mixture of the basic metals and styles to match any outfit. I throw this keeper in my luggage and just go! I don't worry about packing any other accessories since I keep the ones I wear daily stored in here already. 

I have never seen any other bag like this travel keeper. I've tried several jewelry/necklace holders specifically made for traveling and none of them had really worked for me. I found that my jewelry was still getting all tangled and that there wasn't any good place for chunky, bigger jewelry. SO CHECK OUT HOW THIS ELLIS JAMES DESIGNS TRAVEL JEWELRY KEEPER WORKS:

The top portion of the bag is what SOLD me on the design of this bag. You can literally secure the earrings on the stud insert. You just place the earrings through the small holes on the insert and secure them by putting the earring back on after it's through. As you can see above, I put a few pairs of studs on there, but I can even secure my long dangling earrings too. I know you are probably wondering: what about the hoop earrings? WELL Ellis James already has you covered with the buttons at the bottom of the bag. You simply unbutton, place your hoops in, and button back up (as you can see in the bottom left of the pic with  my gold hoops). Also on the bottom, I buttoned my favorite chain bracelets and my link necklace I'm sure you've all seen on my IG. In the zip pocket in the center, I store my watch and chunkier jewelry. The logistics behind this bag are honestly incredible and it was just designed so well for daily living along with travel. I definitely use these bags for traveling, but as I mentioned before, for daily use as well. All three pieces of this collection have become staple bags I use every single day and I love that they are easy for me to throw in my suitcase and go. Overall, I would consider this brand "luxury" when I compare it to the other brands I've tried for jewelry organization.
